How far did the riders travel in the day? How much time did it take them?
During which time interval(s) did the riders make the most progress? The least progress?
Did the riders go further in the first half or the second half of the day's ride?
On their first day of their bike tour, Sidney, Liz, Celia, Malcolm, Theo, Sarah, and Tony rode for 8 hours and traveled 89 miles. Theo and Tony were in the van and Tony recorded the distance in a table. He recorded how many miles they traveled every half an hour. In the morning they traveled pretty fast. They made the most progress from 0.5 hours-2.5 hours. After they rode for 3 hours, it was around lunchtime so they stopped for a break. They ate and rested for an hour and then they got started again. They weren’t so fast after that. It may have been for many reasons. They had a full belly, were going uphill, or the wind could have been blowing in their faces (headwind). They made the least progress during their break. They also made the most progress during the first half of the day’s ride. Follow Up Describe any similarities between the jumping jack data you collected in problem 1.1 and the data Tony collected.
The similarities between the jumping jack data and the data that Tony collected is that as time goes by the data goes up, but it can't go back down.
